Petite ballet and combo (Ages 3-5) this course explores ballet and creative basics and focuses on developing the skills of the young dancer. Coordination, rhythm, and the concept of direction are taught. Terminology is also introduced. Students are also instilled with love for music, dance, and creative expression. This class gives young dancers the confidence to excel in the next levels of dance.
Ballet I through Advanced (Ages 8-adult) these classes provide the theory and practice of the classical school of ballet. Dancers develop technique and strength as well as proficiency, expressiveness and musicality. Ballet students are required to take a set amount of ballet classes a week, necessary for their level.
Repertoire, Pointe and Pas de Deux are added to the curriculum for the more advanced students.
Variations Advanced dancers will learn classical ballet repertoire, traditional
choreography and variations from ballets such as Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Nutcracker,
Cinderella, and others.
Character Dance is a specific subdivision of Classical Dance. It is the stylized representation of a traditional folk or national dance. Character dance is integral to much of the classical ballet repertoire and will benefit any student in their professional and artistic growth.
Jazz/Hip-HopUpbeat music, innovative movement, and
fast-paced style make these dances very popular. Ballet technique is
recommended to build strength and clarity for any dance student. Ballet
students are encouraged to explore these styles of dance
Adult
Ballet Adults may join in classes as their schedule
permits. The focus is to maintain fitness, gain knowledge and improve
technique.
TAP Rhythms and steps will be taught and combined into dances. There
will be practice in working in groups and in solos. For the more advanced
students, technique, terminology and performance will be stressed. Tap promotes
coordination and a sense of rhythmic patterns and helps in retention of movement,
synchronization and musicality.
